Commercial vehicle contract hire and fleet management company, Prohire Limited is supplying a further 14 tractor units to third party logistics company, S W Group Logistics. The first seven vehicles went into operation in January with the balance being delivered in March.
The DAF XF480 6×2 tractor units have been supplied on a 36-month contract term by Prohire, including full maintenance, tyre replacement and relief vehicle provision. The vehicles are FORS silver and Crossrail compliant and include numerous operational and safety features, including the latest generation drivetrain for optimum fuel efficiency, adaptive cruise control and a full health and safety catwalk. The SuperSpace cabs have luxury seats and Truckphone with Bluetooth connectivity.
Barry Smith, Fleet Manager at S W Group Logistics, explained, “We chose the higher vehicle specifications for our fleet to help drive sales as we have definitely found that a smart efficient truck fleet, offering reliable service wins us contracts. It also provides us with some future proofing as the industry evolves, as well as allowing us a better margin at the end of the contract because the vehicles have a higher residual value.
“High specs are also a driver recruitment and retention tool. The S W Group Logistics team appreciate a smart-looking vehicle that is regularly maintained, and the overall vehicle presentation attracts new staff.”
S W Group Logistics is a third-generation family company and has been trading for over 60 years. It offers third party logistics as well as warehousing and pick pack operations, delivering goods anywhere in the UK and Europe. It has six depots across the UK, over 65 vehicles and an annual turnover of over £17 million.
